How will this current physical world end?
Will the Earth disintegrate?
2 Peter 3:10
ESV - 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

Great question, Reverend C.H. Cooper! I think it was in a high school speech class in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I first encountered this question.
The way it came about was when I believe the teacher gave us a choice of reciting one of the world's best poems (a dramatic reading). I chose
"Fire and Ice"
By Robert Frost
"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."
Personally, though, I think Frost was making way too light of the fate of unbelievers!
But no, Reverend, the world will not disintegrate, if you mean by "disintegrate" "break up into small parts, typically as the result of impact or decay."
This current physical world will burn up with a last final burn. See 2 Peter 3:10 in the King James Version. ("But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which, the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.")
