I have had acupuncture from a medical doctor for a few years now and it has made a tremendous difference in my fibromyalgia. He isn't a believer in Eastern religions at all but a neurologist who has found that by using this process has done what pills can't do and even if they can this can acupuncture does it without side effects. I no longer have to take pain medication for my fibromyalgia and I have full motion in my right shoulder again! This done in conjunction with a different type of physical therapy has really been a life saver for me. I don't believe there is any conflict with biblical teaching at all like the author states as long as no other gods are worshipped or credited with the healing process.

One of the great discoveries of my life, which I believe was sent to me specifically by God over a period of at least 20 years is how physical health can affect the mind and the spirit.

Human muscles contractions are so powerful that they can actually break bones in extreme cases. If the muscles opposite sides of a bone or the body are out of balance, they can twist our bodies in ways that are painful and depilating. I am a 20 year practitioner of a Korean martial art that teaches that if your muscles are strong and in balance with each other that you can suffer much less pain, which can destroy your spirit and your ability to function physically mentally and spiritually. Spirituality and your relationship with God being the key. Last summer I was training for my 5th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. I am 66 years old and had a terrible sciatica issue in my left leg last summer. I could barely walk, the only time I had no pain was when I was on the training floor. The balanced physical training strengthened my left leg to the point that the sciatic nerve returned to its proper alignment and I am totally pain free, EXCEPT during those times when I get lazy and don't work out 3 times a week. I develop joint pain in several areas. I believe God sent me there 20 years ago to teach me the importance of balance in all areas of life. God balances everything in nature in His own due time.

Like my martial arts training(which makes us the most peaceable people you will ever meet, I believe that things like acupuncture, acupressure, deep tissue massage, are tools given us by God to make us healthy. Even though many of them come from the Orient, I can tell you personally that Koreans are among the most active and strong Christians in the world, and also that in our Tae Kwon Do club, active for 30 years, the longer people have been with us, the more likely they are to be active Christians even though we do not teach it directly. I personally believe it comes with our territory.

This is somewhat off the subject, nevertheless I am certain that its true.

One of the most powerful evangelists in Japan right now is an acupuncturist. He has planted many churches and heads a large Gospel businessman's group. He has more boldness and reward in spreading the Gospel than I have seen elsewhere in Japan or for that matter in my home country of Australia..
He hears about the resistance to the Gospel that is prevalent in Japan, but like David, he moves with a God Who is bigger than any Goliath.
Pro 3 v 5,6 & John 10v 27 allude to a personal God Who will lead & instruct His children.
Don't get spiritually lazy when That Resourse is waiting . . .
