The very first place where Jesus was alluded to in Genesis is the very first prophecy in the Bible, GENESIS 3:15-

"and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel "(Genesis 3:15 ASV).

If we look at verse 14a, we see the very reason why the " enmity".....because you, that is the Serpent which symbolized Satan the Devil, see Revelation 12:9, has "done this".

And what has Serpent done?

He has caused man to be enslaved to sin and death by misleading Eve and through her, Adam. By so doing, he was impeding God's stated purpose, viz, for man to dwell on the earth in happiness and joy and worshipping God.

The Seed of the woman is to bruise Serpent in the head, a sort of crushing and destruction to the Serpent. Such an action would mean deliverance of man from the stranglehold of the Serpent and freedom from enslavement to sin and death. In other words, the Seed would be a Saviour or deliverer of mankind.

Clearly, Jesus Christ was the one to carry out that function.

In time, God was to reveal more information concerning the Seed of promise. The Seed was to come from Abraham's family line, see Genesis 22::18 which reads " And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because thou hast obeyed my voice". (Genesis 22:18 ASV).

Clearly, the Seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15 is the same entity as the seed of Abraham. According to Galatians 3:16, Christ is the seed of Abraham. "Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ". (Galatians 3:16 ASV)

As at today, the first part of the Edenic promise, that is, the bruising of the feet of the seed of the woman by the serpent has been fulfilled. That was when Satan the Devil led the Jews to hand over Jesus for crucifixtion. But this was a temporary thing because God raised up Jesus from the dead on the third day.

The second part of the Edenic promise, that is, the bruising or crushing of the head of the serpent by the seed of the woman will be finally fulfilled at the end of the MILLENIUM reign of Jesus as the Bible spelt out as follows:

"And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and cast him into the abyss, and shut [it], and sealed [it] over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time (Revelation 20:1-3 ASV).

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6 ASV).

"And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (Revelation 20:7 -10 ASV).

And what is the lake of fire and brimstone? The Bible explains: "And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, [even] the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14 ASV).

"But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters and all liars, their part [shall be] in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death (Rev 21:8).

I humbly submit the clearest mention of the Lord Jesus is found in the meeting between Abram (later, Abraham) and a personage who was both king and priest of Salem (Jerusalem) who blessed him in Genesis 14:18

Abram gives tithes to Melchizedek who in turn administered bread and wine to Abram, consider the theme of bread and wine that echoes throughout scripture climaxing in the Lord's Supper. Genesis 14:20

What makes Melchizedek unique was that he was both a king and a priest. Later in the Torah, the royal tribe was Judah from which the kings would come and Levi was the priestly tribe and the two were not to mix their duties.

In scripture Jesus is a ruling priest, not after the order of Aaron, but after the order of Melchizedek, who represents a priestly order that also rules.
Psalms 110:4; Hebrews 4:6; Hebrews 6:20; Hebrews 7:28

In the Lord's freedom a royal priest hood........warrior on
