Colossians 3:1-3 We are dead and our life is hidden with Christ in God.

But our flesh is till with us till we die. Colossians 3:5-6 If we live in those sins named after we have accepted His free gift of eternal life, the wrath of God comes on the Son, John 1:12, of disobedience.

He will never leave us or forsake us, Hebrews 13:5, but He will chasten us as children to bring us back into fellowship with Himself.

The Lord loves us, but hates our sin, So as a good father he chastens us for our own good. God does not want His own children to destroy their own lives. We cannot lose eternal life or that would make God a liar. John 3:18, so He chastens us as children of God.

If we continue in sin He may just take us to heaven before our time. First Corinthians 5:5.

We know we are not to be robbing banks and killing people. Even the unbelieves believe that is bad.

So the GIFT of God is eternal life, but we still reap what we sow in this life and in heaven. We cannot be condemned because God cannot lie. John 6:47. But we can lose our life and the rewards we could have had in heaven. First Corinthians 3:11-15. If all of our works are burned up we shall still be saved so as by fire.

Hebrews 12:5: And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

When one faces trials and tribulations one needs to understand chastening comes from the Lord. Our spiritual way of thinking should lead us to humbleness which will then lead us to be disciplined in holiness and maturity. For, “Consider it for joy, my brethren whenever you face various trials of many kinds, know that the testing of your faith worketh patience and humbleness. Let your humbleness to the Lord finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete not wanting anything." (James 1:2-4) Thus will the Lord continue to work with us as a potter does to the clay which will lead us to humble ourselves and pray and to seek His face and turn from our wicked ways.

Discerning in the right spirit will lead one to humbleness, and to hearken to His voice, and to hold our tongue. Being born again from above as Jesus spoke to Nicodemus (John 3:3), born of water and of the Spirit, will lead you to enter the kingdom of God. To lead one to this path and to enter, discipline is a must, for when you humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, He shall lift you up. (Luke 14:11) For, “Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:” (Job 5:17)

Let us not condemn the potter for the exhortation is revealed by the Lord to be reworked to another vessel as the potter has done. (Jer 18:4-6) The Lord’s chastisement comes to everyone, which is a sign of His Love for His children, and we are not to lose our hearts and condemn the potter when we go through trials and tribulations. Just as our parents disciplined us as we grew up as children, the Lord disciplines His children, but he does not condemn them. (Rom 8:1)

2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.
