There are examples we have in the bible giving reference to men of God. The prophet Elijah was referred to as the man of a God. As a human being there is no better example we have than Our Lord Jesus. A man of God is one who lives by the principles of God. He has the character, personality and values of the kingdom of God. His words, thoughts and action replicate God in action. He is a man that runs his race with diligence and patience, keeping his eyes focused on the author and the finisher of our faith. His total trust and sustenance is in the word of God. He mediates day and night on the word. His aim is to accomplish God's will no matter what it costs. He is one who denies himself picks up his cross following Jesus. The words that will flow out of his lips" I can do all things through Christ who strengths me". Like the apostle Paul his confession will be" I live but yet not I but Christ liveth in Me.".

What does it mean to be a man of God? A man of God is a person who lives under God's authority, dedicating himself to following divine commands rather than worldly pursuits. He is characterised by spiritual maturity, integrity, and humility, striving to reflect God's heart in his character, relationships, and service to others. Characteristics of a Man of God: Devotion and Communion: He maintains a constant, intimate relationship with God through prayer, meditation on Scripture, and worship, Character and Integrity: He strives for holiness, avoiding gossip, guarding his heart against worldly corruption, and acting as a godly example to his family and community. Righteous Action: He acts justly, loves mercy, and walks humbly with God, in line with Micah 6:8. Servant Leadership: He is a steward of his resources, serving others and, if necessary, defending his family and faith. Submission and Purpose: He recognises himself as a son under God's authority, following His guidance with joy. Biblical Examples The Bible applies this title to men like Moses, David, Elijah, and Elisha—individuals specially called to communicate God's word and lead. To be a man of God means to be an individual whose heart, mind, and actions are aligned with God's revealed will. While historically used as a title for prophets like Moses, Elijah, and David, the New Testament applies it more broadly to anyone who is spiritually reborn and unashamedly follows the example of Jesus Christ. How do I become a man of God? If we can understand Jesus' mindset about this type of love he is referring to, we may learn a few lessons. To be a Godly man is to love.... Loving is serving.... Be intentional.... Jesus balanced work and rest.... Jesus took ownership of his life.... Jesus was perfect in his authority and perfect in his vulnerability. To be a man of God means you are in harmony with God's heart. This doesn't mean you can't make mistakes. You stand firm in your identity. Humble and Gentle: He imitates Christ's servant heart, being humble, gentle, and patient (Ephesians 4:2, Titus 1:7). Ephesians 4:2,3, ESV: "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Titus 1:7 ESV: " For the bishop must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; 8 but given to hospitality, as lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled; 9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching."
