By far, the most searched for terms on the internet are related to pornography. Pornography is rampant in the world today. Perhaps more than anything else, Satan has succeeded in twisting and perve...

A great verse is Job 31:1. This righteous man said, "I made a covenant with my eyes, not to look lustfully at a woman."

That about sums it up. Remember, the girls in pornography are often in bondage, high on drugs in order to degrade themselves as they do, and desperately unhappy. They are someone's little daughter, someone's sister.

They need our prayers for deliverance. So do the men...

The Bible tells us all to not have any sexual immorality in our lives. That includes pornography. It may be simple things like looking at a man or woman with lust, but the Bible specifically tells us not to do that. Amen.

Galatians 5:19-21 lists the lusts of the flesh.Verse 19 has the word "fornication". Interestingly the Greek word for fornication is por-nā'-ä, from which we get "porn".

porn - ography i.e. representing or writing about sex.

Strong's lists the biblical usage of the word

I.illicit sexual intercourse

A.adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.

B.sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18

C.sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; Mk. 10:11,12

II.metaph. The worship of idols

A.of the defilement of idolatry, as incurred by eating the sacrifices offered to idols

What does God say about porn?

To answer that question look up anything to do with Baal worship in the Bible. It was all to do with the porn of their day. Fornication and gratuitous sexual orgies.

The result was babies born out of wedlock. Then they would sacrifice the babies to Baal in a ritual where they would heat up the giant metal statue Baal in a massive fire, then place the babies in a cavity in the heated statue.

The babies would be tortured to death. And this all pleased their Baal god (small 'g').

This is the same Satanic spirit that is behind pornography today. So in a nutshell if you watch porn and enjoy porn you are essentially worshipping Baal, and by proxy, Satan himself.

Now for the caveat...

It's not true that watching more pornography leads to more addiction. (Well maybe it does in the 'odd' case, but I'm certain it's not the norm.)

Let me just say right up front, I used to watch porn a lot. (There was a period in my life where I was a non-believer and then I turned back to God.) Then I gradually stopped as God gracefully and gently led me into the knowledge that watching porn was Satanic, and I needed to close the door to that demonic force in my life.

With that disclaimer out of the way...

While watching porn and masturbating is quite habit forming (for some more than others), if you follow it to it's conclusion, most just end up getting bored with it... and then stop doing it for a while until their body levels return to their normal levels, desire returns, then they go through a short period of watching porn again.

BTW - I'm recounting this from first hand experience.

And my experience is not unique. When I allowed myself to watch porn on a regular basis it was kind of gratifying at the time. But I didn't like the deflated feeling immediately afterwards.

When I was living like this I would often compare notes with other friends. Their experiences were pretty similar to mine. After a while they simply got bored with it, and stopped doing it for a while, then returned back to it.

To say that watching porn leads to heavier and heavier stuff is not true of most people. Otherwise you'd have a whole bunch of insanely perverted people running around. One could argue that's what happened in Sodom, and is beginning to manifest today.

Let's face it, most men who are not believers watch porn and masturbate. Women are far less likely to watch porn because they are much less 'sexually activated' by visual stimulus than men.

So in conclusion, yes, the Bible talks about porn, but in those days it involved Baal worship. And any time porn is involved these days it's essentially Baal worship.

In other words it's bad.

The Bible says that, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;"
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (in Context) 1 Corinthians 6 (Whole Chapter)
Hence, our body and mind to be in controlled as says in Galatians 5:22-24 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Hence, it is better to preserve our body and mind as pure as we can.

The ancient Hebrews had three types of sin. One, iniquity, was written in three characters. The first was the symbol of an eye, the second a symbol of a fishhook and the third a school of fish. It meant that whatever you look upon can hook you and multiply. Basically, pornography hooks the spirit and grows in a lustful manner within and tainting perspective. But also consider violent images, degrading sit com's and basic commonalities. Such pursuits can influence our whole outlook.

God does hate sexual sin more than many others. That is why Paul wrote that every sin is done outside the body except sexual sin. "Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So how can you join the Lord to a prostitute?" I know many use this verse for many other things, but this is the one that Paul was talking about.

Sex is blessed between a man and his wife. All other sex is sin. Satan is still going about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Only God alone is able to keep us from this sin. In the Lords prayer it says to "lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil". If ever we needed that prayer it is today.

This is also the sin that Paul said that a man should be excommunicated from fellowship with the church until he repents, speaking of the man who was sleeping with his father's wife. It is important to note that the man did not lose his salvation, but he was certainly out of the will of God. There are absolutes in the bible and sexual sin is one of them. God does chasten those He loves. Much better to forsake the sin than receive the chastening hand of the Lord.

God hates sexual sin and so should we. It is so rampant in this day and age it is hard to do. We are to look at women as a person that God has made and not a sex object. If you have a problem in this area take it to the Lord. Only he can help you. What can man do? Keep confessing your sin until it is gone. God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can stand.

[28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
1 John 2:16 KJV
[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
James 1:14-15 KJV
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. [15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Pornography is the lust of the flesh and of the eyes. It makes you take your eyes off your own lust (spouse). It is considered adultery. It is also immoral and anything the is immoral goes against God. You must not only guard your heart, you must guard your eyes also. To me anything you lust after other than God is a sin. You don't lust after materialistic things. When I mean lust after God I mean a deep desire to learn his words and to live by them to the best of your ability.

Data Curtis Elliott I am a husband, father, happily married 40 years.
Romans 12:1 -...."present your bodies (and mind and imaginations) as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which IS YOUR SPIRITUAL WORSHIP." Apart from corporate worship, how we deal with food, exercise and mental imagination based on what we see and contemplate is actually how we individually worship God. If we are doing anything contrary, including looking at lustful pictures or images, we are simply not worshiping God. It is not only sin, it is non-worship of God. Let God help you worship him.

I used to have a problem with pornography. My cousin, who doesn’t want to be named for obvious reasons, and I had our own “Playboy” collection of centerfolds in a 3-ring binder notebook. Everywhere I looked, in the newspapers, magazines, TV, movies, etc. I looked for porn. This was before I got saved. Then we got rid of the collection.

But now, since Jesus delivered me, I love purity. It’s still my weakness, and I know it, but I can now ask for Jesus’ help, Jesus Who lives in me. Verses that I am learning to help me fight a craving for porn are: 2 Timothy 2:22

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. (typed from memory)

Ephesians 5:3 	But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
(typed from memory)
1 John 2:16
16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. (NLT) -- (typed from memory)
Galatians 5:19

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; (typed from memory)
Job 31:1

1 “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman. (typed from memory)
Proverbs 7:21-27

21 With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. 22 All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose 23 till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life. 24 Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. 25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. 26 Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. 27 Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.
