He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she * of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
And will be * a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons * and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Whom having not seen (5761) , ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto * also they were appointed.
They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
