⁸ Therefore it says,
_f "When he ascended on high _g he led a host of captives,
and he gave gifts to men."

⁹ ( _h In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into _i the lower regions, the earth? ₁ ¹⁰ He who descended is the one who also _j ascended _k far above all the heavens, that he might _l fill all things.) ¹¹ And _m he gave the _n apostles, the prophets, the _o evangelists, the _p shepherds ₂ and teachers, ₃
