Ask a QuestionOne Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples broke off heads of grain, rubbed off the husks in their hands, and ate the grain.
When the herdsmen saw it, they fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran.
His only daughter, who was about twelve years old, was dying. As Jesus went with him, he was surrounded by the crowds.
Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God!”
Awe gripped the people as they saw this majestic display of God’s power. While everyone was marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus said to his disciples,
As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a meal. So he went in and took his place at the table.
“As a result, this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God’s prophets from the creation of the world -
and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’
But even as Jesus said this, a crowd approached, led by Judas, one of the twelve disciples. Judas walked over to Jesus to greet him with a kiss.
I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel.”
Your own law says that if two people agree about something, their witness is accepted as fact.
They kept looking for Jesus, but as they stood around in the Temple, they said to each other, “What do you think? He won’t come for Passover, will he?”
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”
As Paul was about to be taken inside, he said to the commander, “May I have a word with you?” “Do you know Greek?” the commander asked, surprised.
But how did this happen? Was he counted as righteous only after he was circumcised, or was it before he was circumcised? Clearly, God accepted Abraham before he was circumcised!
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
Welcome her in the Lord as one who is worthy of honor among God’s people. Help her in whatever she needs, for she has been helpful to many, and especially to me.
As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”
