Ask a QuestionThen the woman said, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" And he said, "Bring up Samuel for me."
When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, "Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!"
Then Samuel said: "So why do you ask me, seeing the LORD has departed from you and has become your enemy?
"After that He gave them judges for about four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat.
Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the LORD the yearly sacrifice and his vow.
"In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.
And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out to battle against the Philistines, and encamped beside Ebenezer; and the Philistines encamped in Aphek.
He went from year to year on a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah, and judged Israel in all those places.
And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them in the hearing of the LORD.
So they went up to the city. As they were coming into the city, there was Samuel, coming out toward them on his way up to the high place.
Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, "Please tell me, where is the seer's house?"
Now Samuel said to all Israel: "Indeed I have heeded your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.
"And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, Bedan, Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and you dwelt in safety.
Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people present with him, about six hundred men.
"And thus you shall say to him who lives in prosperity: 'Peace be to you, peace to your house, and peace to all that you have!
"But the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt, nor did we miss anything as long as we accompanied them, when we were in the fields.
"They were a wall to us both by night and day, all the time we were with them keeping the sheep.
Now when Abigail saw David, she dismounted quickly from the donkey, fell on her face before David, and bowed down to the ground.
Then David said to Abigail: "Blessed is the LORD God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me!
