Bildad Speaks: Job Should Repent
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said:
"How long will you speak these things,
And the words of your mouth be like a strong wind?
a Does God subvert judgment?
Or does the Almighty pervert justice?
If b your sons have sinned against Him,
He has cast them away for their transgression.
c If you would earnestly seek God
And make your supplication to the Almighty,
If you were pure and upright,
Surely now He would awake for you,
And prosper your rightful dwelling place.
Though your beginning was small,
Yet your latter end would d increase abundantly.
"For e inquire, please, of the former age,
And consider the things discovered by their fathers;
For f we were born yesterday, and know nothing,
Because our days on earth are a shadow.
Will they not teach you and tell you,
And utter words from their heart?
"Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh?
Can the reeds flourish without water?
g While it is yet green and not cut down,
It withers before any other plant.
So are the paths of all who h forget God;
And the hope of the i hypocrite shall perish,
Whose confidence shall be cut off,
And whose trust is a spider's web.
j He leans on his house, but it does not stand.
He holds it fast, but it does not endure.
He grows green in the sun,
And his branches spread out in his garden.
His roots wrap around the rock heap,
And look for a place in the stones.
k If he is destroyed from his place,
Then it will deny him, saying, 'I have not seen you.'
"Behold, this is the joy of His way,
And l out of the earth others will grow.
Behold, m God will not cast away the blameless,
Nor will He uphold the evildoers.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughing,
And your lips with rejoicing.
Those who hate you will be n clothed with shame,
And the dwelling place of the wicked will come to nothing."

So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly.
While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house.
"and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
Job 5:17 - 27
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
If you would prepare your heart, And stretch out your hands toward Him.
Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
For ask now concerning the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and ask from one end of heaven to the other, whether any great thing like this has happened, or anything like it has been heard.
Remember the days of old, Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; Your elders, and they will tell you:
What wise men have told, Not hiding anything received from their fathers.
Do you not know this of old, Since man was placed on earth.

Let them be as the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up.
The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.
But the eyes of the wicked will fail, And they shall not escape, And their hope - loss of life!
He is uprooted from the shelter of his tent, And they parade him before the king of terrors.
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, Though he may gain much, If God takes away his life?
The wicked will see it and be grieved; He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked shall perish.
The hope of the righteous will be gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish.
Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, And the dwelling place of the wicked will come to nothing.
He builds his house like a moth, Like a booth which a watchman makes.
Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.
He shall never return to his house, Nor shall his place know him anymore.
He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap.
Remember now, who ever perished being innocent? Or where were the upright ever cut off?
Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me.
Let my accusers be clothed with shame, And let them cover themselves with their own disgrace as with a mantle.
