Those Excluded from the Assembly
"He who is emasculated by crushing or mutilation shall a not enter the assembly of the LORD.
"One of illegitimate birth shall not enter the assembly of the LORD; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the LORD.
b "An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the LORD; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the LORD forever,
c "because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and d because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.
"Nevertheless the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam, but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God e loves you.
f "You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.
"You shall not abhor an Edomite, g for he is your brother. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because h you were an alien in his land.
"The children of the third generation born to them may enter the assembly of the LORD.

Or is a hunchback or a dwarf, or a man who has a defect in his eye, or eczema or scab, or is a eunuch.
You shall not offer to the LORD what is bruised or crushed, or torn or cut; nor shall you make any offering of them in your land.
On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people, and in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever come into the assembly of God.

Deuteronomy 2:27 - 30

Then he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor at Pethor, which is near the River in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying: "Look, a people has come from Egypt. See, they cover the face of the earth, and are settling next to me!
"Therefore please come at once, curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed."
And he took up his oracle and said: "Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, From the mountains of the east. 'Come, curse Jacob for me, And come, denounce Israel!
Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose to make war against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.
2 Peter 2:15
They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.
And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them; and He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power.
'Now therefore, do not give your daughters as wives for their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons; and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.'
Genesis 25:24 - 26
So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb.
And command the people, saying, "You are about to pass through the territory of your brethren, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. Therefore watch yourselves carefully.
And when we passed beyond our brethren, the descendants of Esau who dwell in Seir, away from the road of the plain, away from Elath and Ezion Geber, we turned and passed by way of the Wilderness of Moab.

You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Also you shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
