Kindness for Poor Brothers
'If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall h help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.
i 'Take no usury or interest from him; but j fear your God, that your brother may live with you.
'You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit.
k 'I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.
'And if one of your brethren who dwells by you becomes poor, and sells himself to you, you shall not compel him to serve as a slave.
'As a hired servant and a sojourner he shall be with you, and shall serve you until the Year of Jubilee.
'And then he shall depart from you - he and his children l with him - and shall return to his own family. He shall return to the possession of his fathers.
'For they are m My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves.
n 'You shall not rule over him o with rigor, but you p shall fear your God.
'And as for your male and female slaves whom you may have - from the nations that are around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves.
'Moreover you may buy q the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property.
'And r you may take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them as a possession; they shall be your permanent slaves. But regarding your brethren, the children of Israel, you shall not rule over one another with rigor.

Deuteronomy 15:7 - 11
If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother.
You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether one of your brethren or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates.
Each day you shall give him his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he is poor and has set his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
1 John 3:17
But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest.
You shall not charge interest to your brother - interest on money or food or anything that is lent out at interest.
To a foreigner you may charge interest, but to your brother you shall not charge interest, that the LORD your God may bless you in all to which you set your hand in the land which you are entering to possess.
Then I said, "What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?
For I am the LORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
"who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD."
If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him.
For the children of Israel are servants to Me; they are My servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 7:22
For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord's freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ's slave.
1 Corinthians 7:23
You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.
Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor.
And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage - in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.
And you may take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them as a possession; they shall be your permanent slaves. But regarding your brethren, the children of Israel, you shall not rule over one another with rigor.
He shall be with him as a yearly hired servant, and he shall not rule with rigor over him in your sight.
The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them.
But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.
How he met you on the way and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he did not fear God.
And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers, Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, And against those who turn away an alien - Because they do not fear Me," Says the LORD of hosts.
Do not let the son of the foreigner Who has joined himself to the LORD Speak, saying, "The LORD has utterly separated me from His people"; Nor let the eunuch say, "Here I am, a dry tree.
Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, And to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants - Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant -
Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.
Then people will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them for servants and maids in the land of the LORD; they will take them captive whose captives they were, and rule over their oppressors.
