I Am the Good Shepherd
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
"But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
"To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by a name and leads them out.
"And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
"Yet they will by no means follow a b stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers."
Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
Then Jesus said to them again, "Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
"All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
c "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
d "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
"But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and e leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.
"The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.
"I am the good shepherd; and f I know My sheep, and g am known by My own.
h "As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; i and I lay down My life for the sheep.
"And j other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; k and there will be one flock and one shepherd.
"Therefore My Father l loves Me, m because I lay down My life that I may take it again.
"No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I n have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. o This command I have received from My Father."
Therefore p there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings.
And many of them said, q "He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?"
Others said, "These are not the words of one who has a demon. r Can a demon s open the eyes of the blind?"

Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher).
2 Corinthians 11:13 - 15
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

"Woe to the worthless shepherd, Who leaves the flock! A sword shall be against his arm And against his right eye; His arm shall completely wither, And his right eye shall be totally blinded."
He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.
The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who is My Companion," Says the LORD of hosts. "Strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones.
But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles.
The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, "Yet I will gather to him Others besides those who are gathered to him.
And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.
Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again.
And not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.
I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.
Ephesians 2:13 - 18
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
1 Peter 2:25
For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?
Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.
I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
Whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
So there was a division among the people because of Him.
Therefore some of the Pharisees said, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them.
The people answered and said, "You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?
So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD?
When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind.
"If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing."
