Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection
And x He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be y rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be z killed, and after three days rise again.
He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He a rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, b "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
"For c whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.
"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
"Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
d "For whoever e is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."
And He said to them, a "Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see b the kingdom of God -present with power."

Isaiah 53:3 - 11
He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
"and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again."
Luke 18:31 - 33
Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished.
1 Peter 1:11
Searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles.
For He taught His disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.
"and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again."
Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels.
But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
2 Timothy 1:8
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
2 Timothy 2:12
If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
