Wait for the God of Salvation
Woe is me!
For I am like those who gather summer fruits,
Like those who a glean vintage grapes;
There is no cluster to eat
Of the first-ripe fruit which b my soul desires.
The c faithful man has perished from the earth,
And there is no one upright among men.
They all lie in wait for blood;
d Every man hunts his brother with a net.
That they may successfully do evil with both hands -
The prince asks for gifts,
The judge seeks a e bribe,
And the great man utters his evil desire;
So they scheme together.
The best of them is f like a brier;
The most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge;
The day of your watchman and your punishment comes;
Now shall be their perplexity.
g Do not trust in a friend;
Do not put your confidence in a companion;
Guard the doors of your mouth
From her who lies in your h bosom.
For i son dishonors father,
Daughter rises against her mother,
Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
A man's enemies are the men of his own household.
Therefore I will look to the LORD;
I will j wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.
k Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
l When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The LORD will be a light to me.
m I will bear the indignation of the LORD,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my n case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
Then she who is my enemy will see,
And o shame will cover her who said to me,
p "Where is the LORD your God?"
My eyes will see her;
Now she will be trampled down
Like mud in the streets.
In the day when your q walls are to be built,
In that day the decree shall go far and wide.
In that day r they shall come to you
From Assyria and the fortified cities,
From the fortress to the River,
From sea to sea,
And mountain to mountain.
Yet the land shall be desolate
Because of those who dwell in it,
And s for the fruit of their deeds.
Shepherd Your people with Your staff,
The flock of Your heritage,
Who dwell solitarily in a t woodland,
In the midst of Carmel;
Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead,
As in days of old.
"As u in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt,
I will show them v wonders."
The nations w shall see and be ashamed of all their might;
x They shall put their hand over their mouth;
Their ears shall be deaf.
They shall lick the y dust like a serpent;
z They shall crawl from their holes like snakes of the earth.
a They shall be afraid of the LORD our God,
And shall fear because of You.

Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, Like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, Four or five in its most fruitful branches," Says the LORD God of Israel.
And the glorious beauty is a fading flower Which is at the head of the verdant valley, Like the first fruit before the summer, Which an observer sees; He eats it up while it is still in his hand.
I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved.
Help, LORD, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
The righteous perishes, And no man takes it to heart; Merciful men are taken away, While no one considers That the righteous is taken away from evil.
They take up all of them with a hook, They catch them in their net, And gather them in their dragnet. Therefore they rejoice and are glad.
For I know your manifold transgressions And your mighty sins: Afflicting the just and taking bribes; Diverting the poor from justice at the gate.
Her heads judge for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the LORD, and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No harm can come upon us.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the LORD for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.
Everyone take heed to his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; For every brother will utterly supplant, And every neighbor will walk with slanderers.
The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter.
"and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household.'
But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, "He is out of His mind.
Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd.
For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.
And it will be said in that day: "Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!"
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.
Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles.
"To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins."
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.
For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
2 Corinthians 4:9
Persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed -
Why should a living man complain, A man for the punishment of his sins?
Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the LORD.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Their Redeemer is strong; The LORD of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case, That He may give rest to the land, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me.
My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, "Where is your God?
O you afflicted one, Tossed with tempest, and not comforted, Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires.
On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old.
There will be a highway for the remnant of His people Who will be left from Assyria, As it was for Israel In the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.
Isaiah 19:23 - 25
In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.
But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings," says the LORD; "I will kindle a fire in its forest, And it shall devour all things around it." '
By your servants you have reproached the Lord, And said, 'By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, To the limits of Lebanon; I will cut down its tall cedars And its choice cypress trees; I will enter its farthest height, To its fruitful forest.
The Lord said, "I will bring back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea.
Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
And He said: "Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.
LORD, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see. But they will see and be ashamed For their envy of people; Yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.
Look at me and be astonished; Put your hand over your mouth.
Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, And His enemies will lick the dust.
Kings shall be your foster fathers, And their queens your nursing mothers; They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, And lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.
The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their hideouts.
'Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.'
