The Lord Had Pity
Then the LORD will i be zealous for His land,
And pity His people.
The LORD will answer and say to His people,
"Behold, I will send you j grain and new wine and oil,
And you will be satisfied by them;
I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.
"But k I will remove far from you l the northern army,
And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
With his face toward the eastern sea
And his back m toward the western sea;
His stench will come up,
And his foul odor will rise,
Because he has done monstrous things."
Fear not, O land;
Be glad and rejoice,
For the LORD has done marvelous things!
Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
For n the open pastures are springing up,
And the tree bears its fruit;
The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And o rejoice in the LORD your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He p will cause the rain to come down for you -
The former rain,
And the latter rain in the first month.
The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,
And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
"So I will restore to you the years q that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
You shall r eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the LORD your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to s shame.
Then you shall know that I am t in the midst of Israel:
u I am the LORD your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.

The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, And their kings shall minister to you; For in My wrath I struck you, But in My favor I have had mercy on you.
In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All the days of old.
Look down from heaven, And see from Your habitation, holy and glorious. Where are Your zeal and Your strength, The yearning of Your heart and Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?
Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the LORD - For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all.
It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer," says the LORD; "I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
The field is wasted, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine is dried up, The oil fails.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
And the LORD turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the territory of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to me: "Out of the north calamity shall break forth On all the inhabitants of the land.
For behold, I am calling All the families of the kingdoms of the north," says the LORD; "They shall come and each one set his throne At the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, Against all its walls all around, And against all the cities of Judah.
Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory.
O LORD, to You I cry out; For fire has devoured the open pastures, And a flame has burned all the trees of the field.
Then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them; You shall rejoice in the LORD, And glory in the Holy One of Israel.
They do not say in their heart, "Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, And their heart shall rejoice as if with wine. Yes, their children shall see it and be glad; Their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.
Then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
Joel 1:4 - 7
What the chewing locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten.
Joel 2:2 - 11
A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, Even for many successive generations.
Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
'And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.'
But those who have gathered it shall eat it, And praise the LORD; Those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts.
But Israel shall be saved by the LORD With an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever.
I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.
I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.
"So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, Dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, And no aliens shall ever pass through her again."
For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted; For the LORD dwells in Zion.
I am the LORD, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me.
That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.
