Words of the Wise
Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise,
And apply your heart to my knowledge;
For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you;
Let them all be fixed upon your lips,
So that your trust may be in the LORD;
I have instructed you today, even you.
Have I not written to you excellent things
Of counsels and knowledge,
p That I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth,
q That you may answer words of truth
To those who send to you?
Do not rob the r poor because he is poor,
Nor oppress the afflicted at the gate;
s For the LORD will plead their cause,
And plunder the soul of those who plunder them.
Make no friendship with an angry man,
And with a t furious man do not go,
Lest you learn his ways
And set a snare for your soul.
u Do not be one of those who shakes hands in a pledge,
One of those who is surety for debts;
If you have nothing with which to pay,
Why should he take away your bed from under you?
v Do not remove the ancient landmark
Which your fathers have set.
Do you see a man who excels in his work?
He will stand before kings;
He will not stand before unknown men.

It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus.
That you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed.
Like the cold of snow in time of harvest Is a faithful messenger to those who send him, For he refreshes the soul of his masters.
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
You shall not pervert the judgment of your poor in his dispute.
Job 31:16 - 21
If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or caused the eyes of the widow to fail.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.
1 Samuel 24:12
Let the LORD judge between you and me, and let the LORD avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you.
"For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise," says the LORD; "I will set him in the safety for which he yearns."
I know that the LORD will maintain The cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor.
An angry man stirs up strife, And a furious man abounds in transgression.
He who is surety for a stranger will suffer, But one who hates being surety is secure.
You shall not remove your neighbor's landmark, which the men of old have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
'Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor's landmark.' "And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
Some remove landmarks; They seize flocks violently and feed on them.
Do not remove the ancient landmark, Nor enter the fields of the fatherless.
