Why do You stand afar off, O LORD?
Why do You hide in times of trouble?
The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor;
a Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.
For the wicked b boasts of his heart's desire;
He c blesses the greedy and renounces the LORD.
The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God;
God is in none of his d thoughts.
His ways are always prospering;
Your judgments are far above, out of his sight;
As for all his enemies, he sneers at them.
e He has said in his heart, "I shall not be moved;
f I shall never be in adversity."
g His mouth is full of cursing and h deceit and oppression;
Under his tongue is trouble and iniquity.
He sits in the lurking places of the villages;
In the secret places he murders the innocent;
His eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless.
He lies in wait secretly, as a lion in his den;
He lies in wait to catch the poor;
He catches the poor when he draws him into his net.
So he crouches, he lies low,
That the helpless may fall by his strength.
He has said in his heart,
"God has forgotten;
He hides His face;
He will never see."
Arise, O LORD!
O God, i lift up Your hand!
Do not forget the j humble.
Why do the wicked renounce God?
He has said in his heart,
"You will not require an account."
But You have k seen, for You observe trouble and grief,
To repay it by Your hand.
The helpless l commits himself to You;
m You are the helper of the fatherless.
Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man;
Seek out his wickedness until You find none.
n The LORD is King forever and ever;
The nations have perished out of His land.
LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will prepare their heart;
You will cause Your ear to hear,
To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,
That the man of the earth may oppress no more.

His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
The LORD is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah
Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches.
LORD, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?
They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, But such as keep the law contend with them.
The fool has said in his heart, " There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.
Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.
Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
"In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.'
"Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."
Day and night they go around it on its walls; Iniquity and trouble are also in the midst of it.
Destruction is in its midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from its streets.
Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.
Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud.
Your hand shall be lifted against your adversaries, And all your enemies shall be cut off.
When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.
The LORD is in His holy temple, The LORD's throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
2 Timothy 1:12
For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.
Assyria shall not save us, We will not ride on horses, Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, ' You are our gods.' For in You the fatherless finds mercy.
The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood, And the LORD sits as King forever.
