Student of the scriptures

I am 72 years of age and was raised in the Church of Christ, but later married and became Catholic.  After both my husband and I began to study with a Charismatic minister, we then worshipped with a Charismatic group, later returning to an (instrumental) church of Christ (unlike my background in non-instrumental).  Eventually, we did go to a non-instrumental church, but then we hired a new younger preacher who opened our minds to studying the word much deeper than either of us had ever done.  Later we became part of an independent Baptist church, but after seeing some errors in the teaching, we continued to search and for the past 13 plus years have been worshipping, then became members of a Christian and Missionary Alliance church.  I was able to go on a biblical study tour of Israel with a college professor whom I have since been privileged to study with for the past year and a half.  He is from another denomination but is very knowledgeable of scripture and its derivation. He teaches every Wednesday night at our church.
