Revelation 11:8,9 speaks of the two witnesses who will lie in the street during the Tribulation, "And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves." 

At the time this was written, it was inconceivable that the "nations" could "see their dead bodies." But with today's technology, it is now possible via satellite for this event to be viewed by the entire world. Also, with the technology of the internet and social media, now a major tool in the sharing of the gospel, more people and nations are able to hear it. 

So while the word technology isn't specifically used in the Bible as a sign of the end times, just as the word rapture isn't used, or the actual word Bible isn't used, an increase in technology is clearly a sign of the end times.

I have seen nothing in the bible that even mentions the word technology, let alone an increase in it being a sign of the end times. There is, however, mention of a vast increase in knowledge and how that will point toward the end of time. In some of those same scriptures, I know that it states the gospel message will have gotten all around the world at that time, leaving no person without excuse. I believe you've confused an increase in technology with the increase of knowledge that will occur. Granted, the increase in knowledge may be aided by the increase in technology, however the increase in technology in and of itself is not a sign of the end. It is the knowledge that will result from it that is the sign of the end.

The Bible gives us many prophecies that must take place before the time of the end, most of which have already taken place. I believe that some of those prophecies at least insinuate that technology would have had to increase before the Lord returns, like the one previously mentioned about the whole world witnessing the two prophets. Another one about the sky rolling up like a scroll seems to describe a mushroom cloud. The Daniel prophecies could very well be descriptions of the internet.

Daniel was told to seal up some prophecies until the time of the end. Jesus said we are not to know the time these things will take place, but gave us signs to watch for. Many prophecies have already been fulfilled, as I already stated. There are others, I believe, that have yet to happen. We don’t always understand prophecies correctly, even after they have been fulfilled. But all the prophecies in the Bible will be fulfilled. And Jesus will return! 

Revelation tells us a lot of what will happen at that time. The big question is will we be ready? An even bigger one to ask ourselves is will I be ready? Have I repented of my sin,the biggest of which is unbelief? Have I truly believed and do I continue to believe that Jesus came willingly to die for my sin? Because I truly believe that, do I live my life trying to please Him by turning from that sin and loving others? When He returns will He say “Well done my good and faithful servant?” Or “Away from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you?” Jesus won’t make you come to Him, but the Bible tells us how strongly he tries to get us to. The strongest of which may be that He is THE ONLY WAY and there is no other way to heaven! If that encouragement is not enough, try reading the book of Revelation about all the suffering unbelievers must go through!

There are a few passages in Revelation that could imply or suggest higher technology occurring at the time of the End. Examples: Rev. 9: 17-19 (the horses of the 200 million, described symbolically, have unusual power in their mouth and tails, suggesting higher technology than we have now). Rev. 13:15 (life is given to the image of the beast - some type of animation technology exists in the future to make an inanimate object speak). All the false "wonders" of the false prophet (Rev.13:13) may have higher technological support, perhaps originating from higher alien technology. 

These are not the kind of demonic phenomena we are already familiar with in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Either the demons gain additional new spiritual powers, or they are given new technology to magnify what they have always had.

Jesus said there would be earthquakes in many places. While there has not been a significant increase in earthquakes in recent years, per se, they do more damage than ever when they do happen, due to the increased populations. But I take Jesus’ saying as possibly related to “explosions”. We can definitely say without doubt that countless explosions occur in our time. These could never have happened before, because the technology was not there, however rudimentary some of the devices are. Explosions cause the ground to quake and cause the collapse of buildings much like an earthquake. In Jesus’ time people (even Jesus) could not even have conceived of the weaponry we now have. So I believe the terminology he used—earthquakes—best describes what even he did not fully understand about the coming technology. I think we can look at several prophesies and conclude that certain things probably would not come to pass without the advances in technology we see today.
