I read in an article by reasonablefaith.org that only the act of homosexuality is wrong. It went on to say that a christian can be homosexual as long as he or she does not commit homosexual acts. Is this true?!

From my thorough research of the bible in more than two decades, homosexuality is outrightly condemned by GOD. The bible mentions such acts as vile, abominable, unholy, etc. Homosexuality is a sin, and as such no sinner is a Christian. There are actually no controversies on the issue of Homosexuality. The Bible out rightly condemns it. That was one of the major sin of Sodom and Gomorra in the book of Genesis, 18 and 19, and the tribe of Benjamin, that caused them near extermination by the other eleven tribes of Israel. Homosexuality, must never be mentioned amongst believers in CHRIST JESUS. Though, I don't condemn Homosexuals, or lesbians because GOD still loves them. But GOD passionately hate their actions (homosexuality). I strongly recommend homosexuals who desire to be "CHRIST-LIKE"(CHRISTIANS) to genuinely repent of the sin of homosexuality, by confessing, renouncing, denouncing the sin of homosexuality. Then ask the LORD JESUS CHRIST to forgive them, save them, and empower them to totally overcome the powers and influences of this SIN.
I strongly disagree with reasonablefaith.org. Christ stated in Matthew 5:28 "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:10 "I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." Committing a sinful act is only the outward manifestation of the heart, the core of our sinful nature. I believe that Biblical principle teaches that imagining or fantasizing to the point of acting it out in one's mind is as bad as committing the act in God's eyes.
I agree with reasonablefaith.org. The homosexual person is different than the homosexual act. We judge actions either as moral or immoral - in this case, homosexual acts are immoral. As for the person, whether homosexual or not, we love them unconditionally.
The sin is committed with the desire of the heart. To commit the act is a sin as well but the lust and the desire are the initial sin.
