In my opinion, if you’re going to speak to someone about the Bible who doesn’t believe in it, I feel that we need to pray that God lead us to a conversation with the person when it’s in God’s will & time. When we’re led by the Holy Spirit, all conversations will lead you in the correct time & a right situation for this to occur successfully. I pray this will help you with your question. God bless.

If the person in question has never heard of the Bible, or has no familiarity with it, I would start from a very basic level, similar to the approach taken by C. S. Lewis in his excellent book Mere Christianity, in which he first establishes the existence of God through the presence of a universal moral law, and then proceeds from there to relate that fact to the specific revelation that God has given of Himself in the Bible. 

On the other hand, if the person has been exposed to the Bible, but does not believe what they have learned about it (either by reading it first-hand, or through being told about it by another person), I would concentrate on finding out what the individual's specific objections or reasons for not believing are, and attempt to address those particular issues.

From my personal standpoint, I have always found the agreement between the Bible and secular history; the fulfillment of prophecies made hundreds of years earlier; and also the New Testament's account of the development of Christianity within the very "real-world" setting of the Roman Empire in the first century AD to be some of the most persuasive evidence with regard to the historicity and accuracy of its contents, which, in turn, contributes to the credibility of its spiritual teachings, particularly with regard to the identity of Jesus as God, and the salvation that is possible through faith in Him.

First of all you must prove that the bible is indeed the word of God. The best way to prove is to look at the bible and what it says about a particular group of people, the best being the Jews, and a place to check is Jerusalem. Just look at what is happening there and prove from the bible that indeed whatever God said hundreds of years ago about that people and place is exact. Some prophecies are being fulfilled even in our days.

Great question! I have run into this occasionally. So I would say, from experience, try quoting verses from the Bible without saying where it is from. The Bible has a power all its own. I have used other translations with unbelievers, and they could not tell it was coming from the Bible.
