It is a common belief that our Lord Jesus Christ celebrated Passover with His disciples on Maundy Thursday (on the Thursday before Easter)

I would in this connection request a reference to Jn 18:28 which states as follows: "Early in the Morning Jesus was taken from the Caiaphas' house to the governor's palace. The Jewish authorities did not go inside the palace for they wanted to keep them ritually clean in order to be able to eat Passover meals"

It is thus clear that the Passover was not celebrated by the Jews until our Lord was condemned to death. The time of the ritual slaying of the Passover lambs was to happen at the very moment when our Lord was being crucified. For Jesus is the real Passover Lamb. And the Passover celebrations of the Jews which commenced in the days of Moses while the Jews were slaves under Egypt was to be continued only till the real Passover Lamb was slain..
