No. For the animals believe in a Creator. Satan also believes in God and worships Him as Lord, but obviously he isn't saved.

The Scriptures tell us that God saves period. We have no place in our salvation.
Secondly, Scripture tells us that through the Holy Spirit giving us the power to do so, if we declare Jesus is Lord and that He came to earth as God in the flesh, then we shall be saved.

Do you believe Jesus is Lord (sovereign King over man, his actions, his destiny and history)?
Do you believe Jesus was born on this earth God and man in a flesh body?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross a perfect sinless sacrifice?
Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead and is alive now and forever?

Only through the Holy Spirit one attests to these facts, and if one can truthfully attest to these facts, then that one is saved.

According to the bible it is the only way. Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house.

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath,(present tense) everlasting life. God can not lie.

First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Gods word. John 6:40 Gods word.

Man can do nothing to save himself. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through FAITH, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.

IT is faith apart from works. Faith is no a work. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A GIFT is paid in full by the giver. John 3:18
