Before I was saved I was a Christian Scientist. I was lost down that cultish rabbit hole having been born there. Many Christians had opportunities to tell me about the true Gospel but they did not. I even visited evangelical churches when I was experiencing the toxic effects of the CS cult but no one bothered to warn me of the danger even though they did ask about my religious background. This happened at three different churches. Eventually I just went back to square one and read the Bible for myself and asked God to show me the truth. I was astounded at what I had been missing - what had been hidden from me by false beliefs from the cult and flimsy doctrine from the churches I visited. Its been about four years now since I was born again and I am guessing that a lot of people get saved on their own this way but if I knew then what I know now, if someone had bothered to share the Gospel with me and explain that Christian Science is full blown apostasy, I would have repented and ended up in a good church a lot sooner. I have been sharing the Gospel in an online forum for ex Christian Scientists and those seeking to leave the cult. I would say that it is sinful to avoid sharing the Good News when the opportunity presents itself.

The word of God states that if you deny me before men I will deny you before my Father in heaven (Matthew 10:33) I know that we always view this scripture as rejecting Christ before men. But have you ever viewed this scripture as not mentioning Christ to someone that is lost is denying a person the opportunity to get to know the Lord Jesus. The word of God states that if your Gospel is hid then it’s hidden from those who are lost (2 Corinthians 4:3). Based on that information provided I do not know if it is a sin not to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; however it should be a criminal to have something that could possibly revolutionize a person’s life and not provide it. For the word states that if they reject it they are rejecting God so the oneness’ of that information is left in their hands The word of God also states to reproof, rebuke, encourage promote, contend, compel for the Gospel (2 Timothy 4:2) Now this is just food for thought what if you had the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and didn’t. However you found out the next day that, that person died and you know that they hadn’t accepted Christ as their personal Savior. Could you live with that? Sue, Not everybody is a soul winner. There are many "body parts" or members in the body of Christ, the Church. (Read 1 Corinthians 12) Witnessing is not a mechanical recital or chore that must be done for our justification but evidence of a right and close relationship with our Lord and Savior. It is an outworking of the Holy Spirit who Christ said in John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me." If The Lord is on my mind I have a burning desire to talk about him and the Word of God, it is spontaneous. For me personally, it is a reflection of my present spiritual condition. Our mouth/voice is like a speaker that is turned on when you press the "play" button on a recording device. It reveals what has been previously recorded. Luke 6:45 " A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

Ms.Sue The bible is clear that we should spread the good news. No doubt. But how do we do that? Well you can certainly talk about Jesus and what he has done for you personally. You can also show love, compassion, mercy and justice when you have the occasion. But what about the people you meet for just seconds. Check out clerk, you hold the door open for someone or just saying good morning to a passerby. How do you spread the good news to them? The human brain is an amazing organ. God put a lot of thought in the brain when he created man. All people are connected mentally, When a person is being verbally abused, they feel shame and embarrassment. If you witness it, you also feel shame and embarrassment. You feel what they feel. When you see a high wire act, you feel stress, excitement, fear, "you cant look". When in a room full of people and one begins to laugh, soon all are laughing. When you go to a funeral of someone you never personally met, and you see the family crying, you cry to, you feel their pain and it is real. There was a study at a major hospital several years ago that I read. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the hospital, forgive me. It was a study of the baby nursery. They noticed that when one baby began to cry, soon all the babes were crying. They concluded that the babes felt the distress of the one crying and they shared in his distress. So what I'm saying is if you are filled with Jesus you really don't have to say or do anything. They will feel his presence though you. They may not understand what it is they sense, but they will know there is something special about you. I don't pretend I understand it, but I firmly believe it. So as a disciple of Christ, you are spreading the word non-stop. Have a blessed day.

One thing to also keep in mind. There are sins of commission and then there also seems of omission. For example a sin of commission is like adultery it's something we should not do in the Bible clearly instructs us to not practice this sin. Sins of omission are sins that we commit when we don't do as the Bible instructs us. 17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. Consider James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. One of the things we are. Instructed to do in Scripture is to witness to others. "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20. Keep in mind that sin is disobedience to God. Now ask yourself if in light of this we are being disobedient to God if we don't witness to others about Jesus. If the answer is yes then that constitutes sin. Hope this is helpful God bless.
