Is 2 Peter 3:4-12 talking about Jesus return to reign for 1000 years or his return at the last day of this world?
If it is the last day of this world why does he say "all things continue as the have from the beginning" and doesn't mention the 1000 year reign?
2 Peter 3:4 - 12
ESV - 4 They will say, "Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation. 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God.

2 Peter 3 is not addressing the idea of the millennial reign but neither is it discounting it. The passage refers to people who observe the world and conclude "that all things continue as they were." The text points out that these same individuals would be ignorant of Noah's Flood. Therefore, it should not be surprising that they should be ignorant of any other interruptions in history by God. Take the example of evolutionists. They believe the world has continued for millions of years without any interruption by God. Therefore, they would mock the idea that God would judge the world. And obviously many of them do now.
