In my opinion, sin was born when Satan fell. The root of sin is rebellion against God. Hell was even created for Satan, the father of all lies, and his followers. We like to associate the first sin with the eating of the fruit from the Tree of Life, which may be, but I believe our adversary's fall from grace was where sin was born.

I have been a student of God's word since before I could even read. To me, the very inception/creation of sin began in the sudden filling of the angel heart and mind of Lucifer with an attitude of 'self-pride'. This sense of 'self-pride' increased to a point of no-return within the angel Lucifer and to a point that made him think he could "be like God"! The Bible tells us that the sin of pride is the greatest of all sins. So, God cast Lucifer/Satan out of Heaven, along w/ about 1/3rd of the angels that decided to follow Lucifer.

The origin of sin is when Eve believed Satan (in the form of a serpent), instead of God. When she gave the forbidden fruit to Adam to eat, Satan had won, He knew he could fool us humans, & he continues to do so. If they had ONLY said, "No", then we would STILL be living in a perfect world. {Although some of us wouldn't be here, as intimacy would have taken place after marriages. As well as some of us having been born from an attack on the female.}

In my opinion, sin is first revealed in the bible when Eve was tricked by Satan, ate the forbidden fruit and gave some of it to Adam, which he ate. The bible refers to the original sin of Adam, though not of Eve, which interests me. I wonder, though, if this disobedience to God’s command to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was actually called sin before the Law was introduced.

In 1 John 3:4 John wrote- Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

In the book of Romans the Apostle Paul said- 'Through the law we become conscious of sin.' I understand this to mean that before the law, there was no awareness of sin. So, while I believe that the first sin was the sin of Adam, it was not known to be sin until after the law had been introduced.

I believe that it started with Lucifer when he tried to ascend to the highest and to be equal or higher than Almighty God Himself. Lucifer is a created being. He was created to praise & worship Almighty God until sin entered his heart. This is the origin of sin.

Sin came from Satan who was originally created good (Genesis 1:31; 1 Timothy 4:4). And, like the rest of us, he was created with a free will, but he fell as we would later. Satan’s fall from heaven is symbolically described in Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:12-19. An angel named Lucifer wanted to “ascend to the heavens” and be “above the stars of God” (Isaiah 14:13). Verse 14 (Isa 14:14) adds he desired to make himself “like the Most High.” God judged Lucifer by removing him from God’s ongoing presence (Isaiah 14:15). That fallen angel is now known as Satan (“adversary”) or the devil (“slanderer”).

A lot of people what to know about how evil came about. I do also, because I believe this life, where we are now, is not normal. The bible does have some answers on this question. First I would suggest praying for the Holy Spirit to guide you and lead you into all truth John 16:13.

Did you know Isaiah asked the same question or similar? Lets read Isaiah 14:12. "How art thou fallen from heaven,..." Isaiah is saying how did this happen? Or come to be? Well, the reasons are in verse 13 and 14. Because Lucifer kept saying "I will" he wanted to do his own thing because of his jealousy of Christ. At one point God had commanded that all the angels worship His Son (Hebrews 1:6) and Lucifer felt that he deserves worship, but he can't be worshipped because he is a created being, so he sowed discord amongst the other angels and won a lot of them to his side (Revelation 12:4). But notice what God says about Lucifer in Ezekiel 28:12-15. In verse 12 God says that Lucifer was "..perfect in beauty.." and then verse 15 says "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."

So he was perfect until sin was found in him. So the question is, did God put that there, or was it Lucifer? I believe it was Lucifer because the verse says it was "..found in thee..." meaning by the CHOICE he made Lucifer allowed sin to foster in his heart. GOD NEVER CREATED SIN. We are free moral beings and are have freedom of choice. Lucifer chose to sin and now he is trying to get everyone else to do the same so that we can never experience heaven. So now is name is changed to Satan the adversary, accuser, deceiver, and murderer. There is no excuse for sin, we always have a choice not too (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Christ came to destroy the works of the devil (Hebrews 2:14) and give us victory over sin (1 Corinthians 15:57). We can live a life without sin through the power of the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6; 1 John 3:9) Don't let anyone tell you that you will be sinning until Jesus comes. The bible is clear in Revelation 21:27 "...there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth..." Give your life to Christ, repent, and be converted and you shall receive the Holy Spirit and Jesus will come Acts 3:19,20. God bless you as you continue your studies.
