Did Jesus cut His family off because they persecuted Him? No, He understood they couldn't understand His destiny and divinity, therefore their eyes were closed to the truth. We also know that James and Mary were part of the apostles after Christ's ascension. This tells me that they must have been moved by His love and the Holy Spirit to the truth of His godliness.

You are perhaps the only light in their darkness and your example of love and compassion could very well be used to save them one day. Christ told us to not hide our light under a bed or bushel, but to place it on a hill so that all men could see it and glorify your Father in heaven. That my friend is the only reason to be on earth and to be persecuted for our faith--is to bring God glory. Cut them off and God doesn't receive the glory due Him.

Being persecuted is never an enjoyable experience. It can be even more difficult when the persecution comes from your own family. However, what we need to always remember is that when our friends, families, or people we don't even know react aggressively and hurtfully towards us because of our beliefs that it's actually a natural response.

Ephesians 6:12 -  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.  

What keeps people from Christ is always sin. It's always a moral issue, not an intellectual one. You have the Spirit inside of you, and that spirit shines out for others to see. Those that are fighting Christ may often respond negatively and violently against you for it. Your very presence serving as a convicting reminder of their sin... It's not something most people enjoy.

While I don't know your situation, my gut tells me not to cut them off. But to continue to love them as best you can. All you can do is pray that the Spirit reveals Himself to them as He did you. The life you live in the presence of an unbeliever acts as a preview to what they will become. So act lovingly, patiently, and show them Christ through your actions. You don't have to shove the Gospel down their throat, it's the Spirit that will reveal the Truth to them. You just need to love them as sinners.
