When God says something is unclean, He means that it cannot come into His presence, and anyone who gets into contact with the unclean thing should also not come into His presence. But since we're now the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should no longer worry about 'going' into His Presence, because He is already in us. So to make sure He does not leave us, we keep away from unclean things. Uncleanliness is from God's perspective, not ours or the perspective of the Hebrews. The Hebrews did not decide what is clean and what is not; rather, God told them, as His special people, what was acceptable before Him and what was not. To assume that we can somehow 'force' God to repent so that what is unclean before Him is suddenly clean, is being presumptuous. What is unclean will forever remain so in the eyes of our God. Bless.
