ESV - 9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand.

The book of Revelation is a book of symbols and probably the most important book of the bible, being the Book of Jesus Christ. The worship of the beast is basically anyone that does not follow the word of God is by default in worship of the beast. There may be exceptions like people that have never heard of Jesus Christ, I don't know that is an example. We as Christians should not put any idol before God, not television not rock stars not women, not church, etc. So that if God is foremost on your mind and in your heart guiding your life by his word through faith then your hand will to be doing as God wishes.

Those who worship the beast are those people who after being given the truth choose to be "lawless". They are "lawless" because they refuse to keep God's 10 commandment laws. 1 John 3:4 (RSV) 4 Every one who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness....(whether it is breaking the 7th day Sabbath or murder, both are sins) We are told that the "man of sin", or the LAWLESS ONE will deceive many. 2 Thessalonians 2 [Full Chapter] [ The Man of Lawlessness ] Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling to meet him, we beg you, brethren, not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by word, or by letter purporting to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition,... So those who are on the side of lawlessness, those who for whatever reason, refuse to keep the 10 Commandment Laws of God (Sabbath), these people will side with him because he will teach the breaking of God's sabbath along with the other laws just as mainstream christianity teaches now. Isaiah 8:20 (KJV) 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one dot of the law to become void.
