What is knowledge of good and evil, aside from the Genesis story?
Deuteronomy 1:34 - 46
NKJV - 34 And the LORD heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and took an oath, saying. 35 Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I swore to give to your fathers.

The short answer is "knowing how to make yourself god of your life". This is the basic sin - the evil that we are all born with since Adam "the first Man" - that Jesus "the second Man" came to deal with on the cross. The Scriptures are full of people who made themselves god of their lives - most of the Israelite kings after Solomon "did what was evil in God's sight". They serve as a warning to us to "seek God while He may be found".
