The Gospels: A man named Jesus comes on the scene in Israel after 400 years of silence from God, proclaims himself to be the promised Messiah, God in flesh and performs miracles. Religious guys get mad, call him a liar then kill him. Jesus then raises himself from the dead proving his claim to be God is true and ascends to heaven. The Epistles: Explain what the implications of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus mean for salvation, our relationship with both God and man, and what daily Christian life looks like; false teachers are repeatedly railed against. Revelation: Sin, death, the Devil are done away with, all mankind is judged, Jesus reigns in heaven with the saints for eternity.

How can the New Testament be best summarised? The New Testament can be best summarised as the story of the fulfilment of God's covenant promises through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the subsequent establishment of the congregation by the Holy Spirit. It acts as the second major division of the Christian Bible, detailing the transition from the old covenant of law to the new covenant of grace, ultimately centring on salvation through faith in Jesus. The 27 books of the New Testament can be divided into five functional sections that tell this story: The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John): These document the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus, portraying him as King, Servant, Son of Man, and Son of God. The Acts of the Apostles: This book chronicles the ascension of Jesus and the empowerment of the church by the Holy Spirit, spreading the message from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. The Pauline Epistles (Romans to Philemon): Letters written by Paul to churches and individuals, providing theological, doctrinal and practical guidance on how to live out the Christian faith. The General Epistles (Hebrews to Jude): Letters from other leaders (Peter, John, James, Jude) to the broader church, offering encouragement, teaching, and warnings against false doctrine. The Book of Revelation: A prophetic, apocalyptic book that provides a vision of the end times, the ultimate victory of Jesus, the final judgment, and the creation of a new heaven and earth. The New Testament can be best summarised as the story of Jesus Christ fulfilling God's ancient promises to redeem humanity. While the Old Testament is a story of anticipation, the New Testament is a story of fulfilment. The New Testament recounts the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and follows the first Christians as they begin to spread his revolutionary message to people all around the world. What is the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament? The concise answer is that the Old Testament occurs first and shows us how the world began and how the people of Israel came to be. Whereas the New Testament comes after and documents how the world is saved through what Jesus did for his people.
