❶ Both Nadab and Abihu are oldest sons of Aaron who was the brother of Moses. (Num 3:2; Num.. 26:60)
❷ They accompanied Moses, Aaron, together with seventy elders to a banquet with God on Sinai (Ex 24:1-11). They saw God, and did eat and drink with Him. 
❸ They had only recently been set apart for ministry (Lev 8:13-36),
❹ They were grandson of Levi (1Chr. 6:2-3). Levi was grandson of Abraham 
❺ They are from 7th generations of Abraham 
❻ They did not have children (Num. 3:4; 1. Chr. 24:2)
❼ Through self-exaltation, pride, and drunkenness they sinned and died in the fire that God sent as punishment for violating the sacred office (Lev 10:1-7).
❽ Nadab and Abihu died before their father Aaron(1. Chr. 24:1) 


★ Sixfold Sins of Nadab and Abihu are as follows:

❶ It is the responsibility of a chief priest Aaron who shall burn the incense (Ex. 30:7). Both Nadab and Abihu were doing unauthorised service. 
❷ They did what was not commanded in ministry. They offered "strange fire" (of their own making, not the fire of the brazen altar) before God (Lev 10:1; Num 3:4) 
❸ The high priest shall burn the sweet incense upon it every morning and evening when he prepares the lamps (Ex. 30:7-8). However they offered incense at the wrong time during day time. 
❹ They took their censer, and put strange fire and incense together. But God commanded to put the incense directly onto golden altar not on to his censer. It is also breech of God’s command (Lev 10:2. Cf, Lev. 16:2). 
❺ They failed to sanctify themselves before God and the congregation who were in a state of religious ecstacy (Lev 10:3; 9:24). 
❻ They got drunk and tried to carry on holy services in this condition (Lev 10:3, 9).

Nadab [Nā'dăb]—was a name meaning, "of one’s free will" or "liberal."

He was the elder son of Aaron, destroyed by fire for offering strange fire upon the altar (Exod. 6:23; 24:1, 9). If we would worship and serve God acceptably, it must be in the way of His appointing.

Abihu [Ăbī'hū]— was a name meaning, "he is my father." He was the second son of Aaron, who was destroyed with his brother Nadab for offering strange, or unauthorized fire upon the altar (Exod. 6:23; 24:1, 9; 28:1; Lev. 10:1-2). --Lockyer's All the Men of the Bible (Herbert Lockyer).

"It is of the utmost importance to remember all people deserve condemnation and death. A sin against an eternal God is an eternal offense. That is, Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nadab and Abihu did NOT repent. It is too late for them. They had their reward. But it is not too late for you. "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15, ESV). That's what Jesus said. This is the ONLY way to enter heaven. Repentance is not just a change of mind or remorse; it entails a turning from sin to God (see 1 Thessalonians 1:9).
