I feel that the purpose of suffering is to refine us and to bring us to the points in life God wants us to be at that we wouldn't be able to get to without that suffering. Suffering often makes us more empathetic, stronger, and wiser. As an example, as a child I was molested, but as an adult if I could go back and change that, I wouldn't, as the experience, regardless of how painful and scarring it was, made me who I am today and without that, my entire world and world view would be altered. So to me, God allows the suffering of the innocent because without that suffering, they wouldn't experience the spiritual growth or growth of character that He wants from us, and while the suffering is, in the moment, incredibly painful, He is seeing the end result and He is so in love with the souls we will become that the temporary act of suffering is necessary.

There is a disease called CIPA where you can't feel any pain. If you step on a nail, you wouldn't know feel it, pain is a response that something is wrong. Without pain we wouldn't acknowledge the fact that something's not right. With injuries and suffering, we know we are in need of a doctor and we call out for one. All you've got to do is ask and call out for help. You can try to duct tape up your wound and try to fix it on your own, but you can't. 

In this world suffering tells us something isn't right. We've all stepped on the nail of sin and we are all in need of a doctor. If we call out and acknowledge that we can't do it alone Jesus will be right there with us to patch you right up.

In the presence of a perfect being, no sin or any imperfections can exist. Without a doctor we’d all die. When something starts to go wrong you know that something isn’t right. When this happens don’t look down, but look up, for the Doctor is eagerly searching for anyone who will call out to him and acknowledge their need for a savior.

THE most asked questions by unbelievers, as a way of saying, "There is no God," and a question that every believer should know the answer to. What those asking do not realise, however, is that these tragedies and sad sufferings are man's fault, and man must be accountable for his actions. God gave man dominion over the Earth. Many such disasters are due to greed, animosity, false doctrine, apathy, and a hundred more human traits. Man is a fallen being; if he never sinned from birth, he would still be sinful, because that is his nature. All sin has a consequence and the suffering of the "so called" innocents is one of those consequences. God did not make us what we are, we did. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and human disobedience has continued through to today, and will doubtless continue until we arrive on the New Earth. 

The whole organisation of our churches is set up to disobey God, society is organised to disobey God. Who can be surprised, then, when children are slaughtered by ISIS, or drowned because of a Syrian dictator's obsession?
