Being thankful is a good thing, but that is not worship. Worship, literally, means a priest offering a victim to a deity. We find that today in the celebration of a Mass, where a priest offers the Eucharist to God the Father. Glorifying God is a different concept from worship. Birds and beasts, plants and insects, glorify God by simply being what they are intended to be. You and me, glorify God by simply being fully alive - being what we are intended to be, doing God's will.

Worship means to bow down, acknowledgement of God's supreme majesty, sovereignty and authority. You may think of it along the lines of humble submission. To glorify is to exalt, magnify, lift up, praise, publicise, (brag about).
