Not at all. God is not as concerned about the ceremony as He is about you keeping your vows. What we view as a "traditional" wedding is really a matter of culture rather than anything that God has mandated. In the Old Testament, Isaac saw Rebekah being brought to him by his servant, took her into his tent, and they were married--that was it!

Genesis 24: 62 Now Isaac had come from Beer Lahai Roi, for he was living in the Negev. 63 He went out to the field one evening to meditate,[f] and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching. 64 Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down from her camel 65 and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?”

“He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.

66 Then the servant told Isaac all he had done. 67 Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

Of course, nowadays we have a state legal process that we need to honor as Christians and we should honor the biblical mandate to reject pre-marital sex until legally married, but there is no biblical mandate that dictates to us a specific venue or any parameters regarding what our celebration should look like or cost.

Certainly not, but most Christians do it in a holy setting, offering back to God what he gave them and asking him to continue to bless their unity. It's the vows that are most important to God.
