Matthew 25:31-46 tells of the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats. When we die, our souls go back to God. It was never ours, it was God who gave it to us in the first place. At the end of the course of our life, we get to see our Maker again. For your reflection. May God give you peace.

I believe that God is the Father of our Spirits and when the Spirit enters the body it becomes a living soul and and remains with the body, as a living soul, until death at which time the Spirit returns to the Father of all Spirits leaving behind the body and soul it helped create..

A short and simple answer I submit: 2 Corinthians tells us that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". And, we all know the scripture about the thief on his cross right next to Jesus at The Crucifixion that asked Jesus "to remember me". In LUKE 23:43, Jesus tells him "today, ye shall be with me in paradise". I know, I KNOW...this goes against scripture that says that upon His return that all souls that belong to Him will "meet Him in the air". But, to me.....Jesus has promised us that His children will "dwell in His presence for Eternity." 2 Corinthians 5. And, as I like to say, "Praise God that we have a Savior! The bible teaches that when one dies he/she sleeps until Christ return the second time. If we go to heaven readily after death or go to hell readily after death; then Christ second coming will be unnecessary. The theory of immortality of the soul is strictly spiritualism. The soul is mortal. When you die you never go heaven or hell.

First off with this question I think it's important to define, biblically, what a soul is. When we look at Genesis 2:7, we see the first use of the word soul (using KJV), and looking at that verse we can find its definition. Using the bible only let's look at the definition of a soul. "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7 KJV) So let's look at this verse as if it is a mathematical formula. I will assign variables: A = body (formed from dust of ground), B = breath of God(life), C = soul(nephesh). So what we have is A+B=C. Or body + breath = soul. The verse says a combination of the body and breath make a soul. So when the breath is separate from the body, there is no longer a soul. When we die and our "spirit", breath of God (life), goes back to God, there is no longer a soul, only a body. Our soul does not go to heaven or hell, it simply ceases to exist. Our body "sleeps" in the grave until the Second Coming when our bodies are reunited with the breath to become a soul again. This study goes a lot deeper, but for sake of time I will leave it at that. If anyone wants to look at it more deeply let me know.

If you die today you wont go to heaven niether hell but you will be resting in a place called paradise not heaven. You will go to heaven or hell after the judgement day only where it z called White throne judgement. EG: jesus says at crucifixion scence where jesus says to the theif that "today you will be with in the paradise"
