Why will the impure spirit return with seven other wicked spirits?

Matthew 12:43 - 45

ESV - 43 When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order.

IT is for testing a unclean spirit can only inhabit a sinful soul what sin first allowed it to be there ...Has the person overcame that sin. the spirit will return in a season. every believer should walk in deliverance but also victory over sin ...

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,“ and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire (2 Peter 2:20 - 2:22 NKJV)
Christians today need not to return to their old ways, be renewed not conformed to this world. Christ came to set us free not for us to take advantage of that freedom and think demons cannot enter and take over when we conform, an idle mind (not filled withGod's Word)will be overpowered, do not return to your old ways (vomit).

This passage is specifically addressed to the leadership of National Israel, the Hebrew Nation, in that day. It is not specifically applicable to Christians today.

To clarify the situation back then, the enemies of Jesus (the Jewish leadership) paraded themselves about as being religiously perfect. Actually, they were promoting themselves rather than Jesus. They came up with all sorts of legalisms, written and oral, that they demanded the Jewish folk obey. They worshiped their own importance while getting in the way of God's message for the Hebrew Folk. In so doing they actually facilitated the rejection of Jesus as the promised Jewish Messiah. They, and the Jewish folk, ran around "getting clean" from all unrighteouness when they didn't have a clue about Righteousness found only in Messiah Jesus. The deeper they got into the leadership's deception, the more open they became to utter deception by none other than Satan himself.

Their solution was to acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah, receiving as their reward spiritual peace in their lifetime and in the promised Kingdom of God on earth. There rejection made them 7 times more miserable than they were before.

We Christians can look to that passage as an indicator of what happens when one fails to honor Jesus as Savior and follow Him as Lord. However, we can look to the Pauline Epistles and the Book of Hebrews for clarity for seekers and Christians today. We do find sinners failing over and over again to receive Jesus as Savior, and we do find Christians who slip into sin. However, a Christian cannot be inhabited by an evil unclean demonic anything, so there is no evil spirit (small s) to depart and no possibility for 7 more to penetrate the whole armor of God.
