I think it is OK to marry for love, but much more for the will (it could be ministry) of God. You know it is God who joins people. He joins us not for anything else other than His will.

The acts of the flesh that follow up in marriage are okay and of God's will. However, much as they are good, they have to be done within the confines of the Holy Scriptures. They spice up the marriage and keep us attractive to each other. Our bodies are physical attractions.

On the other hand though, God joins us much more for His spiritual will to be fulfilled. He joins the physical bodies, but much more the spirits. This is because the physical bodies reach a stage and are no longer attractive to each other, but because it is not the only major reason you are husband and wife, you will still keep together. The spirits, for the will of God keep you going.

For that, if you only marry for your physical attractions, those are the marriages that eventually easily break up. Because if we say you may marry for love even though you are a Christian, I would say (and this is me) it is okay, but I would also ask; what has prompted your love for that particular person? I may not have an answer for this, but it would be very important if you had a good one for it. There are people who physically look very attractive, however that is not how God judges who should marry who, He (God) judges according to the heart. Our physical attractions can’t be the reason and the guarantee that we will always keep together. If you married for the will of God, even though one of you is physically deformed, may be by an accident, you will still keep together as a married couple. God is not after our physical looks, it is the heart.

My advice would be; it may be okay to marry for love, but it is much important and it should be part of our lives to always inquire of the Holy Spirit. He will surely always guide us in all such controversial matters. God first, then everything else follows. Now that you are Born Again, Jesus the CHRIST has taken full charge of your life. Inquire of Him through the Holy Spirit. Amen

Yes, but it should be real love as described in 1 Corinthians 13, not just sexual love.

If you do not love the person to begin with your marriage will be a sham. Physical attraction only attracts us to the other person, but then there are other things that attract us about them. This may sound really dumb to some of you, but my wife and I started dating when she was a freshman in highschool. We fell into sin her jr and sr year. We got married and now we have been married for 56 years. What we meant for evil God meant for good.

I could not have picked a better mate and she says the same about me. Amazing grace. Do not wonder why we love God so much. I know most teenage marriages do not last, but our God can make them last. Today being mothers day all of our children rise up and call her blessed.

As John Wayne said in one of his movies, " all the gold in California cannot compare with what happens between a man and woman that love each other."

yes because of love and sex has a part to play in that too. because it makes the bond stronger as the bible says Adam knew Eve so there is a different type of knowing because they were together in the garden before any sexual encounter not until he had sex with her did he know her. Also we Christians are human too we have emotions and God knows that well hence Paul's in his epistle to the 1Corinthians7:9 he wrote that it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
