How does the Holy Spirit work with me?

John 16:13

KJV - 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

We must fellowship with the Holy Spirit daily "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all Amen" 2 Corinthians 13:14. We fellowship with Him because He is the one who teaches us about Jesus in fact, He is the one who keeps us save until Jesus comes. "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption" Ephesians 4:30.

If we allow Him to lead us, it's amazing the difference we will see in our walk with Jesus and in our lives. He will allow us to love our enemy, bless those who curse us, and give to the poor. The Bible says those who are led by Him is God's children. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God" Romans 8:14.

I personally cannot pray without the Holy Spirit. When I go to pray I ask Him to please help me speak to my Heavenly Father because I don't know what to say. I also ask Him to Help me worship my Lord Jesus and Glorify Him though me.The Holy Spirit loves that because that is what He is here to do, to Glorify Jesus and Jesus alone

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you" John 16:13-14

I would say that the Holy Spirit works in us and through us rather than with us, because I think it's too easy to misunderstand the term 'with'.

Very often, Christians view their relationship with God as 'God' and 'me' being quite separate, when what has actually happened is that God's Spirit is united to us and we have become one, something like two molten metals being poured together to form a new alloy. The reason we can be called born again is because we have actually been given a new spirit, God's Holy Spirit himself, as our new life.

When Jesus died, we died with Him; when he was raised to new life, we were too - in him. The key to the Christian experience is two-sided: the first side being, 'in Christ', the second, 'Christ in you'. By his Spirit, God lives his life through us because we are incapable of living the kind of life that he's intended for us. That's why Jesus said, "you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me." (John 15:4 NLT). Paul said, too, that there was nothing good in his flesh. (Romans 7)

God takes the responsibility to be our comforter, our counsellor, and our very life. He takes the responsibility of being the power to live the kind of life he intended for us all along - a life of freedom in him. Our only responsibility is surrender - every day making decisions based on a will that's given up to God, and then watching him live his life through us.

The answer lies in the chapters preceding this verse.

In John 14:15-17, Jesus states, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you."

In John 14:26, Jesus concludes, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you."

The Holy Spirit is God's gift to you after Jesus left to heaven. Through the Holy Spirit and the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2), you will be able to discern truth and God's purpose and will for you.

I can only share how he works with me and those around me to give you a hint or clue to what you are looking for or what to expect. God is awesome in his thinking to take up residence inside of each individual is totally masterful. Case and point: say you offended someone and you knew that you should not have said nor done that particular thing. The Spirit of the Lord will make you feel uneasy or restless until you repent to him and possible make the situation right with the other person. John 16: The Holy Spirits job is to reprove us from sin. There is literally no rest inside of me until I clear the matter up.

The Lord also guides me like a puppet if I can use the term. I could literally make up in my mind to do one thing and I will find myself doing something totally contrary to what I would normally do (legal of course) nonetheless different from what I had purposed in my heart to do. And if you are new to this Christian walk I strongly suggest that if you are unsure about hearing the Holy Spirit clearly ask him for confirmation. The word states 2 Corinthian 13:1 “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established”
