I could be wrong but, without any doubt, Jesus was that God Creator in Genesis 1 and identified specifically as YHVH ELOHIM in Gen. 2 and Logos in John 1. That ""I am that I am" was Jesus (Ex 3:14;Jn. 8:58). God the Father created all, not directly, but through Jesus (I Cor. 8:6). That being stated, this Creator God incarnated, as in, Phil. 2:6-7:"Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to (cling to). Instead, he gave up his divine (spiritual privileges); he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being." (NLT). Since he was conceived in the virgin womb of Mary, as a man-Jesus, he has a human mother and father (Lu. 2:48-51). As a man-Jesus (anthropos), he has a "mother" and has "parents". Understand though, that Mary's "motherhood" was similar to "surrogacy". Meaning that, nothing in the "human composition" of Jesus, an "egg" from Mary or "sperm" from Joseph or anyone, contribute to his being. Remember, he was not of this earth; he was "from above" (Jn. 8:23), out of this world. However, as Mary was the "mother of man-Jesus", she was "blessed among women", and deserves our respect and reverence, but not our worship. Like any "earthy human", she needs salvation. Nevertheless, while Mary was the "mother" of man-Jesus, she was not a mother of YHVH ELOHIM, the Creator God and Logos, a previous position and function of Jesus. This YHVH has no beginning nor end.

Yes. Mary is the mother of God. Jesus is God. Plain and simple. Jesus picked Mary to be his mother. And by "mother" we mean: 1. She bore him in his womb 2. She gave birth to him. 3. She nursed him. 4. She raised him. We cannot separate Jesus' human nature from his divine nature and say, "Mary is the mother of Jesus' human nature only." This is false because mothers give birth to "persons" and not "natures". Mary gave birth to the Second Person of the Trinity - Jesus, fully God and fully Man. We are thankful to her because through her (literally) Jesus entered into this world.
