In the first century, the Bible contained only 46 books, the books of the Jewish Bible, our Old Testament books.

In the year 397AD, during the councils of Carthage, the Catholic Church officially declared adding 27 books to the Bible, the New Testament books, bringing the total number of books to 73.

In the year 1826, the British and Foreign Bible Society, not wanting to follow the Church's instruction, removed 7 books from the Bible. That is why we have bibles that only have 66 books.
