It is important to know God's will. Jesus said that His true relations are those who know and do the Father's will: "Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother" (Mark 3:35). In the...

God's will is that you receive Jesus as Savior. Once you have done that you are smack in the middle of His Will. As the Holy Spirit guides you, you are in His will. Once you become aware of that, the rest falls into place. No more guessing, no more worrying, no more sleepless nights. You are IN His Will.

Once the Holy Spirit leads us to Christ and we receive Him as Savior and Lord; we become hungry for His fellowship and the Holy Spirit provides this as He guides us in His Holy Scriptures (The Holy Bible)...The Holy Bible is "God's will" for our lives...You only need His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit (the Interpreter of God's Word); Who tells us in our conscience if what we are doing is good or evil. Follow Him!

I am a born again Christian, beginning a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in January 2013. I am and forever will be totally in love with Jesus!

I struggled with this issue for about a year always asking the Lord "What do YOU want me to do for you God? Where do YOU want me to go for YOU Lord?

But when I was asking, I wasn't fully developed as a Christian, a baby just learning to walk, and He knew this, so He helped me grow without demand. As time passed, I learned that just living in Christ, for Christ in ALL things IS God's will. When I faced homelessness, it was the first time i moved out of my head and into living completely in His will, and He made a way for me to find the perfect home for me. A gorgeous Victorian hotel in the poorest neighbourhood of the city which is where I live now, for Him. I believe fully that He brought me here to educate me and grow in my faith for this is a most challenging thing to find God in the alleys, but I do!

I believe if He puts something ON your heart, for example missionary work, and this is what He truly wants of you, He will make himself clear of this in no uncertain terms, of this I have no doubt!

I struggle with disability - mobility issues and other health concerns which have been barriers to employment the past four years. It all has limited me in my ability to 'do' what usually take a physical presence to do. As a result, God has shown me recently that I am capable of more than I thought, or HOW I thought, and put it on MY heart that in order to do more for Him I have to stretch myself more (He is such a good and loving Father! Wants ONLY the best for me in ALL things!) and that I AM capable of doing so. So that is what I have been doing of late is stretching myself! So I committed to doing the bookkeeping at my church, and teaching ESL at my church one night a week. THESE things I am capable of doing and while not as impacting as missionary work, they are in service to Him and I am happy to contribute in this way.

And of course everyday I pray that He will put someone in my path that I can testify to about the Good News of Jesus Christ and how important it is for EVERYONE to have a personal relationship with their Lord God Creator, who WANTS that relationship with them more than anything. And everyday He always answers my prayers!

John 5:30
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

THIS is God's will for ME. To live completely and fully in HIS WORD. What it is for someone else will be revealed to them in His way. But living in and for Christ IS God's will first and foremost, the rest WILL follow, in His time of course!

I hope this helps to take the pressure off of the personal will to serve, and the easy receivership of His will for you!

Blessings,
in HIM,
Lynn

Ephesians 2:8-9 explains our salvation by the grace of God through faith, not of ourselves through works but, as a gift from God.

The very next verse, Eph:2:10 says,' we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God _prepared in _advance for us to do' (ESV says we are to walk in them,i.e. good works.)

We don't have to worry or fret or even become depressed about what we should do because God already has out works decided and that in Jesus we were created to do them.

If you don't yet know what you should do as a Christian then just keep reading your Bible and studying how to be more like Jesus and God, in his perfect timing, will show you what He has prepared for you.

An aside to Eph 2:8-9 is that legalists (OT law) say those two verses allow people to just keep on sinning because we don't need works (obeying the 10 commandments) for salvation.

Apparently they don't connect Eph 2:8-9 with verse 10 which says because of grace and faith we are then prepared for those works. We aren't given free rein to sin since we have good works waiting for us to do instead.
