The "God-shaped hole" concept states that every person has a void in his soul/spirit/life that can only be filled by God. The "God-shaped hole" is the innate longing of the human heart for somethin...

Life is a constant search. This instinct to search is hardcoded in every living beings DNA. A sperm searches for an egg, it searches for something it has never seen before nor does it know what it looks like or where to find it. Even then it searches with all its might.

If there is a sperm then there has to be an egg, else there is no purpose for a sperm to exist. In the same way there is a God, else there is no purpose for us to have a spirit that constantly seeks him. We might as well have been a tree.
Jesus Christ with his resurrection has proved to us without doubt that there is a God and that God loves us so much that he broke all barriers to show us the way to him.

Yes, everyone has a "God-shaped hole" according to Pascal who wrote in his book:

“What else does this craving, and this helplessness, proclaim but that there was once in man a true happiness, of which all that now remains is the empty print and trace? This he tries in vain to fill with everything around him, seeking in things that are not there the help he cannot find in those that are, though none can help, since this infinite abyss can be filled only with an infinite and immutable object; in other words by God himself.”

And yes, everyone has a "God-shaped hole" according to Bill Bright who loosely quotes Pascal,

"There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ." (Pascal, quoted in: W. Bright, Jesus and the Intellectual, Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru).

St. Paul said it too in Acts 17: 22-27.

Solomon would agree:

Ecclesiastes 3:10-12:

10 "I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live."

Maybe the best reference to use in witnessing is St. Augustine of Hippo who wrote in his Confessions:

" You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you."
