Dear Anonymous, this verse is an indication of our relationship with God.

Doing good deeds are an outward display that we are from God, and are his children. We glorify him by our actions.

As born again believers in Christ, it is our responsibility to follow the example that he has set before us, during his earthly ministry.

In Acts 10:38, it is written, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."

The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 2:10, speaks about these good deeds as follows: "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

In Matthew 5:16, we find the words of Jesus, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
