Dear Anonymous, in my opinion, verse 4 sounds like the Psalmist is depicting Yahweh as an eagle whose wings and body are strong and powerfully built. Psalm 91 speaks about the promises of God's protection. The psalmist is sharing his own personal and intimate relationship that he has with Yahweh. His words are very encouraging in verse 4, and he speaks with full assurance that those who put their trust in Yahweh will find refuge, and His Word will be our shield and buckler. In other words, His promises are like an armor of protection for our souls. In verses 14-16, we find that Yahweh begins to speak prophetically and declares His promises to deliver the one who has set his love upon Him. I believe the He, whom Yahweh is speaking about, is His Son, Jesus Christ!
