To please God is as what Jesus say, that is to love thy God with all your heart and soul and mind. And to love thy neighbor as thyself. These are the two laws that Jesus sum up as from the ten commandment that Moses teaches his people in the OT. The one simple way to please God is just by emulating our Lord Jesus Christ in everything you do. And all blessing shall be upon you. May God bless you.

Apostle Paul gives a warning to Corinthians typically giving the old history of Israel. He indicates crossing of the Red Sea.Further he tells them that the ancestors were all under the cloud and they are all passed through the sea. They ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink. They drank from the same spiritual rock that accompanied them and that rock was Christ. However, God was not pleased with the most of the Isarelites. Their bodies were scattered in the wilderness(1Cor.10:1-5). All except Caleb and Joshua perished in the wilderness(Num.14:16). Caleb and Joshua were only permitted to enter the promised land(Num.14:38, 26:64-65). Why God was not pleased with most of the Israelites? Because they were under the law. God gave the law to accomplish two objectives. Firstly, Law exposes our sins. God gave His Law to confront with our sins so that we might repent and come to Him in faith. Secondly law exposes our sinfulness. Law rouses our rebellion nature into action which demonstrates our inability to help ourselves and proves our need to change our hearts (Rom.7:5-6). Jesus becomes the end of the Law for those place faith in Him. Jesus Christ archived the demand of the Law. He fulfilled the intent of the Law. He completed the purpose of the Law. He executed the covenant of the Law. He perfected the requirement of the Law. Finally He terminated the need of the Law. Paul indicates that when faith came we were under the Law. The Law was our guardian until Christ came. We are now no longer under a guardian because,in Christ Jesus we are all sons of God through faith (Gal.3:23-26) Our relationship with the Law has changed because we have a new nature. Paul called this as ' new nature spirit'. It is God' s Spirit. We allow the spirit of God to live through us. Then our God is pleased with us.

He calls us to be completely honest with him and within ourselves, and to continue to seek honesty. When we are honest our hearts become convicted and we see that nothing is hidden from God. He then leads us to true sorrowful repentance. Sounds burdensome but it's quite the contrary. Our hearts are then purged of sin and chains and darkness. We can then live in the light. It gives us a greater sense of selflessness and allows us to open our hearts to love fully. To love all of God's children fully. Then we stop the hate, and then we realize everyone we hate is as lost as we were and deserves our forgiveness because God forgave us first. Then we can lift them up in prayer. In this everything comes to full circle and God is pleased. Start with honesty. Honesty can begin by acknowledging that there is much we don't understand but God will meet us half way.

My opinion is in line with the "scripts so sure" -the Scriptures is that: The only way we can please God is to believe and accept what He has done through Christ Jesus. That's faith - nothing more, nothing less. It was God who did it, not man - 1 Cor.1:30. Consider this and think about it: "Therefore, having been JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..." Romans 5:1...until we stop believing ourselves (wrong thoughts needed to be put in captivity through the word of God.....2Cor. 10:5) we might not experience or look to please God. God knows better than we do; I believe there is something beyond human knowledge in sending Jesus Christ to die for us. Ephesians 3:19...an introduction of being filled with the fullness of God- knowing the love of God through Jesus' death. Take note of this in pleasing God.... "that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, NOT IMPUTING THEIR TRESPASSES TO THEM, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation." 2 Cor. 5:19. We just need to believe God so that we may offer many thanksgivings to His Holy name and praise Him wholeheartedly for what He's done in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. Amen. We please, or bless, God, by obeying His commands and law. We will fail, some more than others, but one fail or a thousand, places us all in the same place, sinners. God gave us His commands during the Old Testament times, they were meant for those people then, and because God is omnipresent (everywhere and in every time at once) those laws were for all times, not just for a middle-eastern iron-age people. Many of those laws were meant for our own good, for our health and well-being, others were about pleasing God. Jehovah gave us the Ten Commandments, the first four are about our relationship with God, and the second six are about our relationship with each other, and a society. God gave us feasts to observe, holy days to to remember what God did for us, and an operating manual on how to live our lives. Most all of the laws on health and preventing infections have been superseded, not because they are wrong, but because we now know better and have medical services to fulfill them. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus states that He had not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it (in case we failed) and went on to say that not even a dot would disappear until the New Earth was established. So if you wish to please God, which should be our aim, then we need to obey His law, observe His feasts, instead of man's; like Christmas, Easter, Lent, Advent and so on, Observe the day that He made Holy, the seventh day of the week and not the first. Are we in today's church pleasing God? No I believe not, we do not obey His all-time laws.

An excellent question and is similar to one that Jesus was personally asked, so lets see what He had to say! John 6:28-29 "....“We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?” Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” Jesus never played "round the robin" He "cut to the chase" all the time. No fluff, all stuff.
