Why would Pharaoh "console" himself when he saw that his fate was the same as the great nations of the past (Ezekiel 32:31)?

Ezekiel 32:31
“Pharaoh—he and all his army—will see them and he will be consoled for all his hordes that were killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign Lord."

In my opinion, the mention of the "consolation" of Pharaoh in the cited passage, is similar to the old saying, "Misery loves company." It does not involve genuine comfort, but merely describes whatever grim satisfaction might be derived from knowing that many other nations or rulers had shared or would share his fate.
