Why did Jesus instruct his followers to pray they would not have to flee on the Sabbath?

Does this mean the 4th commandment is no longer in effect now that Jesus has been resurrected?

Matthew 24:16 - 20

NKJV - 16 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.

In my opinion, Jesus (speaking prior to His death and resurrection, as well as to the admission (starting in Acts 15) of non-Sabbath-observing Gentiles into the early church) was referring to the original intent of the seventh-day Sabbath as a day of rest for Israel (even before the Ten Commandments were given), as noted in Genesis 2:3.

Observance of this purpose would impair the ability of the Jewish faithful to flee in the face of the distress described in Matthew 24:15-31.
